Job description

Advance your occupational therapy career in a dynamic educational environment with a full-time contract opportunity beginning August 2026 and stretching through the end of May 2027. This position serves multiple campuses on Houstons southwest side, supporting students ages 3-21 in a school-based setting. With a commitment to manageable caseloads and strong collaboration, youll make a lasting impact each day.

What youll need to be successful:

  • Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in Texas (COTAs with extensive pediatric or school experience are also welcome to apply)
  • State fingerprinting and background check completion prior to start
  • Previous employment with this specific district will disqualify candidates
  • Must be able to complete and sign required affidavits regarding prior terminations from any school district
  • Reliable transportation to commute between 6-7 assigned schools within a designated ZIP-based zone
  • Strong skills in evaluations, ARD attendance, and IEP documentation using tools such as SHARES and Onward school health software
  • Experience managing rotating caseloads, with direct services for 30-40 students and additional consultation-only cases

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy assessments and individualized interventions
  • Consult and collaborate with special education teams, teachers, and families
  • Maintain accurate records and complete all necessary documentation
  • Participate in ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings for student plans
  • Prioritize student-centered care while ensuring compliance with school and state guidelines

This on-site position operates weekdays (typically 8-4 or 7:30-3:30) with access to a district office as your home base. Youll enjoy the variety of supporting multiple campuses while benefiting from an assigned zone to minimize commute time and maximize your support to students.
