Job description
Step into a fulfilling contract opportunity serving PreK-8th grade students in a supportive educational environment. Youll work alongside a dedicated Physical Therapist and Adapted Physical Education professional, with the assistance of a COTA present one day per week. This full-time, on-site position focuses on delivering occupational therapy services that help students reach their potential during the academic year, from August to May.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Active Occupational Therapist (OT) license for Louisiana
- Experience or strong interest in working within a school setting, especially with PreK-8th grade learners
- Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including PT and APE staff
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Comfort working independently while being part of a team
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and implement individualized intervention plans for students in PreK through 8th grade
- Participate in the development of IEPs and work closely with other educators and service providers
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports in compliance with school and district standards
- Adapt therapeutic approaches to suit varying student abilities and educational needs
- Foster a supportive, inclusive atmosphere to help each student thrive academically and socially
