School Occupational Therapist | El Mirage, Arizona

Job description

Make a real impact supporting students in a K-12 educational environment during the 26/27 school year. A motivated Occupational Therapist (OT) or Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) is needed to provide therapy services for approximately 28 hours a week, from Mondays through Thursdays. This is a contract position offering the opportunity to collaborate closely with educators, families, and students to help learners achieve their fullest potential.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Arizona OT or COTA license
• IVP fingerprint clearance card required
• Previous experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to adapt and individualize treatment plans for diverse student needs

Responsibilities:

• Deliver occupational therapy interventions to K-12 students as prescribed by IEPs and 504 plans
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and support staff to facilitate students participation in educational activities
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of service delivery and progress notes
• Participate in IEP meetings and provide input regarding students functional abilities and goals
• Provide consultation and training to school staff on strategies to help students access the curriculum
• Support a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students
