Job description
Step into a rewarding contract opportunity, providing occupational therapy services to elementary-aged students (ages 3 through 5th grade) in a supportive environment designed for professional growth. This full-time, onsite position begins August 10, 2026, and runs through June 8, 2027, offering 35 hours per week across several possible school sites in the area. Therapists will enjoy the autonomy to craft their own schedules (with administrator approval), ensuring flexibility while maintaining 21 direct service hours weekly.
You'll work with diverse caseloads that may include students in Academic Life Skills programs, supporting those with significant autism diagnoses, communication challenges, and behavioral needsalways with the backing of a robust mentoring system and district behavioral resources.
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
- Valid and active Maryland Occupational Therapy license
- Pediatric or school-based OT experience encouraged
- Comfort supporting children with high-level autism, communication, and behavioral needs
- Enthusiasm for collaboration within a multidisciplinary team
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to varying caseloads and school assignments
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services to students across elementary settings
- Assess, plan, and implement therapy goals tailored to each childs needs
- Collaborate with educators, families, and district support staff
- Maintain accurate records and individualized education program (IEP) documentation
- Participate in school meetings and contribute to ongoing student support strategies
- Engage in the districts mentoring program and professional development
