Job description

This contract role is ideal for an Occupational Therapist passionate about making a direct impact in educational settings. Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid and active Occupational Therapist (OT) license in the state of Virginia
  • Graduation from an accredited Occupational Therapy program
  • Successful completion of relevant fieldwork, preferably with pediatric or school-aged populations
  • Previous experience in a school environment is highly desirable
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and follow Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Proficiency in evaluating and documenting student progress

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct assessments to determine student needs and develop tailored intervention plans
  • Deliver direct and consultative occupational therapy services to students according to IEPs
  • Collaborate daily with teachers, counselors, and support staff to optimize each student’s learning environment
  • Educate families and school personnel on strategies and accommodations to foster student independence
  • Maintain thorough documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district guidelines
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute valuable input for student growth and goal attainment
