School Occupational Therapist - Bessemer, Alabama

Job description

Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting student growth through specialized occupational therapy services. Work alongside educators and other professionals across four schools near Bessemer, AL, providing individualized and small-group interventions tailored to each students needs. Two positions are currently available, each serving a caseload of 50-60 students from now through June 10.

Key qualifications:

• Current, valid occupational therapy license/certification for Alabama (must be provided)
• Experience delivering therapy services in school settings preferred
• Strong understanding of IEP-based service delivery models
• Effective communication and collaboration skills
• Commitment to onsite presence; teletherapy or virtual services are not considered

Core responsibilities:

• Provide direct OT services to students according to IEP goalsindividual, small group, and push-in models
• Work one-on-one or in small groups, with frequencies determined by student IEPs (30-minute sessions weekly, biweekly, or monthly)
• Maintain documentation, progress notes, and timely reporting in compliance with school and state requirements
• Liaise with teachers, administrators, and parents to support student achievement and participation
• Demonstrate flexibility in managing a diverse caseload across multiple school sites
• Participate in IEP meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary teams

This contract position features a consistent weekday schedule, Monday through Friday, from 7:45 am to 3:45 pm. Youll have the unique opportunity to engage with school communities and positively impact students educational journeys.
