Job description

Take your expertise in occupational therapy to the next level by supporting students in the beautiful southern region of New Mexico! This contract opportunity runs the full school year, with the possibility to extend for several years. You’ll collaborate closely with a longstanding client and make a positive impact on students from a variety of age groups.

Key Qualifications:

  • Active New Mexico state licensure (NMRLD) required and NMPED certification through the NM Department of Education by the start date (applicants should be proactive; NMPED process is efficient for those prepared)
  • Experience supporting K-12 students as an OT; COTAs will also be considered
  • Willingness to supervise Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs)
  • Ability and enthusiasm to travel between school sites, providing services to diverse caseloads
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide onsite occupational therapy services across multiple schools
  • Work with students of all ages to foster independence and support individual education goals
  • Supervise and guide COTA staff, collaborating to deliver comprehensive therapy plans
  • Engage with teachers, families, and other professionals to create supportive educational environments
  • Keep thorough and timely records of therapies, progress, and communications
