Little legends Therapy is a private therapy practice in Billings, MT that is growing and looking to add members to build a strong pediatric team to serve our community. Little Legends Therapy believes in creating an environment where children can feel safe and build the skills they need to be successful in their daily occupations. Full Job description:
At our clinic, we believe every child is full of potential. We are a team of therapists who are passionate about creating a supportive, playful, and encouraging environment where kids and families feel valued and cared for. We’re looking for a Pediatric Occupational Therapist Assistant who shares our heart for children and families and wants to grow alongside a collaborative, fun-loving team.
Responsibilities:
1. Implement interventions based on provided evaluation, goals written, observations and interactions with patients and caregivers
2. Provide direct occupational therapy interventions as outlined in the supervising OTR’s treatment plan.
3. Engage children in therapeutic activities to improve fine motor skills, self-care, play, sensory regulation, coordination, and social interaction.
4. Adapt activities and materials to meet the developmental and functional needs of each child.
5. Document treatment sessions accurately and in a timely manner according to clinic policies and professional standards.
6. Communicate regularly with the supervising OTR regarding client progress, challenges, and recommendations.
7. Educate and support parents/caregivers with home program activities and strategies for generalization of skills.
8. Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, educators, and families to support child success.
9. Participate in staff meetings, continuing education, and professional development activities.
10. Supervise and educate fieldwork students and student observers
11. Participate in team meetings and contribute to a positive, collaborative workplace culture.
12. Minor administration and office duties
Qualifications:
1. Associate’s Degree from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program.
2. Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA).
3. Prior pediatric experience is strongly preferred; new graduates with pediatric fieldwork experience will be considered.
4. Strong clinical reasoning, organizational, and communication skills.
CPR certification within 30 days of hire (will reimburse course).
5. Excellent communication, organizational, and documentation skills.
6. Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
7. Able to lift 50 pounds.
8. Organizational and interpersonal skills.
9. Able to lift 50 pounds.
Preferred Skills & Knowledge:
1. Experience in sensory integration, feeding therapy, or handwriting interventions.
2. Familiarity with conditions such as autism spectrum disorder, ADHD, developmental delays, and other pediatric diagnoses.
