Job description

Make a meaningful impact supporting students by providing essential occupational therapy services across campuses in the North Chicago and Waukegan area. This part-time contract opportunity is perfect for a licensed occupational therapist who is passionate about working within K-8 educational environments and values collaboration, flexibility, and student success.

Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy or a closely related discipline from an accredited institution
  • Minimum of three years of occupational therapy experience in a school setting
  • Valid Illinois occupational therapy license and registration with the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation (IDFPR)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to travel between two to three K-8 campuses in Lake County

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy services to students in accordance with IEP goals and state guidelines
  • Assess students’ functional abilities and develop individualized intervention plans
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, staff, and families to promote student participation and academic achievement
  • Maintain accurate records of assessments, progress, and service delivery
  • Provide consultation, resources, and training to school staff regarding strategies for improving fine motor skills, sensory regulation, and overall functional independence
  • Oversee and coordinate services for two to three campuses, working 20 hours per week over two to three days
