Job description

Make a difference in the lives of high school students as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a contract assignment this upcoming school year. This role is located near Dekalb, IL, serving the dynamic Maple Park community from September 1, 2026, through January 15, 2027. You’ll play a vital part in supporting students’ growth, empowering them to succeed both academically and personally.

In this full-time, onsite opportunity, you’ll collaborate with a supportive educational team, using your expertise to help high school students develop essential skills for success. The ideal candidate is passionate about promoting student independence and motivated by the rewarding challenges of a school setting.

Qualifications:

  • Holds an active Occupational Therapist license in Illinois
  • Demonstrated experience working in K-12 school environments (high school experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of evidence-based OT interventions and individualized educational plans (IEPs)
  • Comfortable working exclusively onsite—remote options are not available
  • Not accepting Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) for this position

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough assessments and develop tailored intervention plans for high school students
  • Collaborate closely with educators, administrators, and families to ensure students’ needs are met
  • Deliver direct therapy services, document progress, and participate in IEP meetings
  • Adapt strategies and equipment to foster optimal learning and independence for each student
  • Maintain compliance with all relevant federal, state, and district regulations
