Job description
Step into a dynamic and rewarding opportunity as a school-based Occupational Therapist, working on-site with a diverse population of students ages 3 to 21. This full-time contract position runs from August 19, 2026, through June 1, 2027, offering a consistent, engaging schedule of 35 hours each week. Situated in a collaborative, supportive educational setting near Chicago Heights, this in-person-only role provides a chance to make a genuine impact on students’ daily lives and educational growth.
What you’ll bring:
- Active Illinois Occupational Therapy license (required)
- Previous experience or interest in working with school-age populations (ages 3–21)
- Strong understanding of evidence-based therapeutic practices
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, educators, and families
- Compassionate, adaptable, and energetic approach to working with students with disabilities
- Professionalism and collaborative spirit to support a multidisciplinary educational team
Responsibilities include:
- Providing direct, in-person therapy services to students across various age groups and needs
- Developing individualized treatment plans and interventions using evidence-based strategies
- Collaborating with educators to develop effective, engaging programs that address a range of student needs
- Monitoring student progress and adjusting therapy plans accordingly
- Participating in meetings, professional development, and interdisciplinary team discussions
- Maintaining accurate documentation in accordance with program and state guidelines
