Job description
Make a meaningful impact in early childhood education as a dedicated Occupational Therapist for a leading school in the North Chicago area. This contract opportunity offers a part-time schedule for the 2026-2027 academic year, with flexible options of either two or three days per week (.4 or .6 FTE). You'll support young learners in an Early Childhood setting, contributing to their development and school readiness within a collaborative environment.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification from the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Eligibility for licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Illinois
- Familiarity with school-based OT practices, particularly in Early Childhood and special education settings
- Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within the Winnetka Preschool Consortium
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with educators, students, and families
- Solid organizational abilities for managing caseload, documentation, and service delivery
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans to promote student engagement and success in early learning environments
- Conduct assessments and provide direct treatment to support functional participation in classroom activities
- Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to develop strategies and modifications that enhance each childs learning experience
- Maintain thorough documentation to comply with school and professional standards
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide input on student progress and needs
- Stay current with best practices in pediatric and school-based occupational therapy
