Job description
Step into a meaningful contract role supporting students across all grade levels in a vibrant school district. A Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) or Occupational Therapist (OT) is needed to provide district-wide care, lending their expertise to students from Pre-K through 12th grade. This full-time opportunity begins at the start of the school year and is slated for approximately 12 weeks to cover a maternity leave, with a strong likelihood of extension. Candidates must be fully comfortable with the unique nature of a leave replacement assignment.
Key Qualifications:
- Valid Connecticut COTA or OT license (CT DPH and NBCOT credentials required)
- Experience in school-based settings preferred
- Comfort and confidence working with children and adolescents of all ages and abilities
- Reliable transportation to travel between district schools
- Commitment to covering the entire temporary assignment, with an understanding that extensions are possible but not guaranteed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy services in accordance with student IEPs and treatment plans
- Support students throughout the districtranging from Pre-K to high schoolwith diverse learning needs
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with educational teams
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and therapists to ensure comprehensive care
- If a COTA, work under the guidance of an Occupational Therapist as outlined by district and licensure requirements
