Job description

Embark on a meaningful contract opportunity as a full-time Occupational Therapist supporting students in schools across the southwest Houston area. This role offers the chance to work with learners ranging in age from 3 to 21, providing essential evaluations, attending ARDs, and delivering direct and consultative OT services within a thoughtfully assigned zone (6-7 schools, commutable based on ZIP code). The district office is available as a home base before traveling to supported campuses, ensuring you’re always connected and prepared.

Your caseload will consist of approximately 70 students, with a primary focus on 30-40 for direct intervention and the remaining through consultation—rotating schedules mean flexibility in student interaction. The age group diversity offers a rewarding avenue for experienced professionals, especially those passionate about pediatric and school-based occupational therapy.

Candidates must meet these requirements:

  • Valid and active Texas OT licensure
  • Experience with pediatric or school-based caseloads
  • Open to highly qualified COTAs with substantial school or pediatric experience
  • Ability to drive between assigned schools within a specific zone
  • Clear state fingerprinting/background check (district may use prints already on file)
  • Proficiency or willingness to learn SHARES school health and Onward software; Excel for IEP logs
  • Full-time availability (37.5 hours/week) only—no part-time options
  • Never previously employed by this district or terminated from any school district (affidavit required)

You’ll provide treatment (no delegated COTAs) in a supportive professional environment while maintaining strong documentation skills. Typical hours are 8-4 (occasional 7:30-3:30).

If you’re an enthusiastic OT looking for your next rewarding full-time contract, apply today to make a lasting difference in students’ lives while growing professionally in an engaging school setting!
