Step into a rewarding contract opportunity supporting elementary students as a school-based Occupational Therapist near Kent, WA for the 2026-2027 academic year. This full-time role, totaling 35 hours per week, runs from early September to mid-June, with specific training days held in August (dates to be confirmed). You'll play a vital part in helping students thrive academically and develop essential life skills.
Ideal candidates will bring a strong background in school-based occupational therapy, home health, and healthcare-related OT functions, with the adaptability to address diverse pediatric needs. Collaboration and clear communication with staff and families are key to success in this position.
Key Qualifications:
- Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist in Washington State (WA OT)
- Demonstrated experience in school-based OT, with a focus on elementary caseloads
- Background in occupational therapy within healthcare or home health settings
- Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized education and therapy plans
- Not open to COTA candidates for this assignment
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive OT evaluations for elementary students
- Design and carry out individualized therapy plans aligned with IEP goals
- Collaborate closely with educators, support staff, and families to ensure cohesive care
- Document student progress and maintain compliance with all school and state guidelines
- Provide consultative services and resources to support student success in classroom environments
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning
