Job description

A rewarding opportunity awaits for an experienced Occupational Therapist interested in making a direct impact in grade school settings. This full-time contract position, conveniently located near Arlington Heights, IL, is tailored for the 2026-2027 school year. In this role, youll provide essential OT services for approximately 36-40 students across four low-incidence classrooms, supporting learners with life skills needs and autism.

Your commitment will enable these students to develop vital daily living and academic abilities that foster independence and participation in their educational journey.

Qualifications:

  • Current and valid Illinois Occupational Therapist license is required
  • Experience in a school-based OT role preferred
  • Proficiency supporting students with autism and life skills needs is highly valued
  • Strong communication and organization skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and families

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver occupational therapy evaluations, interventions, and progress monitoring for students in low-incidence classrooms
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to each students strengths and goals
  • Collaborate closely with teachers, paraprofessionals, and other therapists
  • Participate in IEP development and team meetings
  • Document services and maintain compliance with school and state requirements
