Job description
Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting elementary students in a vibrant, resource-rich educational environment. This contract position begins on August 7, 2026, and extends through October 15, 2026, with orientation dates scheduled for August 3rd and 4th. You'll work a steady 37.5-hour week, based in a single elementary building, allowing for meaningful connections and consistent support for your students.
As a valued contributor, your expertise will help children develop vital skills and achieve greater independence within both resource and self-contained classroom settings.
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
- Current Illinois State License (IDFPR) as an Occupational Therapist
- Prior experience or interest in school-based occupational therapy
- Solid understanding of interventions for elementary-aged children
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities to partner with teachers and families
- Problem-solving mindset and adaptability in dynamic school environments
Primary Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments and create individualized support plans for students
- Deliver engaging therapy sessions in both group and one-on-one settings
- Work closely with educational staff to integrate OT strategies into daily routines
- Document student progress and participate in IEP meetings, as needed
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere for learning and growth
