RESPONSIBILITIES

As a school-based Occupational Therapist, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing the education experience of students who are ages K3-21.  Your primary responsibilities will include delivering evidence-based OT services to individuals and groups, collaborating with teachers and other professionals to develop and implement tailored intervention plans, and conducting comprehensive diagnostics to assess student needs and progress. The OT will:

  • Conduct thorough diagnostic assessments and evaluations to identify students’ strengths, challenges, and areas for growth.
  • Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) to address students’ sensory, motor, and self-regulation needs.
  • Provide direct therapeutic interventions to students, both individually and in small groups.
  • Monitor and document students’ progress, adjusting intervention plans as needed to ensure optimal outcomes.
  • Work in various settings, including classrooms, therapy rooms, and outdoor environments.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other team members to integrate therapeutic strategies into students’ academic and daily routines.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and progress notes.
  • Stay abreast of current research and best practices in occupational therapy, integrating new knowledge into practice to enhance student support.
  • Travel to various districts and schools.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from a school accredited by the American Occupational Therapy Association.
  • Current Occupational Therapy license from the Department of Public Instruction or the ability to obtain one.
  • School-based therapy experience preferred. Will consider pediatric experience
  • Agile, demonstrating a growth mindset by leveraging flexibility, resilience, and change.  Ability to be flexible and accommodating to changing school and student needs.
  • Highly collaborative, working with others to achieve a common goal in a way that promotes representation and participation by all.
  • Excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communicator who expresses ideas and information with clarity and respect aligned to an intended audience and purpose.  
  • Thinks critically to analyze multiple perspectives, contexts, and data to creatively question, make connections, and evaluate options leading to reasonable conclusions with on-going reflection for future improvements.
  • Empathetically engages with others to understand and recognize their perspectives, experiences, and emotions.
  • Practices self management to leverage one’s abilities and emotions to direct one’s path as a resilient lifelong learner. 
  • Able to successfully commute to multiple schools.
