LTS - Occupational Therapist (10/26/26-1/18/27)
License: School Occupational Therapist #812 Required. Bachelor Degree Required, Master Degree Preferred.
SUMMARY: Provides evaluation, intervention, and consultation services for and on behalf of children with disabilities. Communicates effectively with educational personnel, parents, and community agencies in order to promote the education of children with disabilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Instructs students individually or in group settings in both special education classrooms and the regular education environment.
- Develops, reviews, evaluates, and implements Individual Education Programs (IEP) for students with disabilities.
- Responsible for informing regular education teachers of IEPs if applicable.
- Monitors and evaluates students’ work and progress based on tests, reports, work samples, and observations.
- Keeps appropriate records and prepares progress reports.
- Assists with diagnosis (testing/evaluation) and writes related reports.
- Develops a specific occupational therapy treatment plan that will assist the child in meeting the goals and objectives.
- Identifies pupil needs and makes appropriate referrals and develops and implements strategies for IEPs and 504 plans.
- Provides qualitative and quantitative feedback to students and parents.
- Provides training to the appropriate person to carry over therapy goals in the school setting.
- Responsible for set-up, maintenance, and cleaning of treatment areas and OT equipment.
- Participates in building, content area, grade level meetings, parent/teacher conferences, and open houses.
- Attends meetings/conferences and participates in other activities to promote professional growth.
- Acts as an advocate for the student with staff, supervisors, administrators, community resources, and parents.

- Plan and deliver effective instruction that regularly integrates technology, engages students, enhances student learning experiences, and provides students opportunities to observe, question, and investigate.
- Use data to adapt teaching methods, instructional materials, and assessment strategies to meet the varying needs and interests of individual learners.
